PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN 2–1 ASTON VILLA

Paris Saint-Germain have added another major European trophy to their collection after defeating Aston Villa 2–1 in the 2026 UEFA Super Cup in Salzburg.

PSG, the reigning back-to-back UEFA Champions League winners, took the lead through Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in the 20th minute. Aston Villa responded before halftime through 17-year-old Brian Madjo, who became the youngest-ever scorer in the history of the UEFA Super Cup.

The decisive moment came in the second half when Désiré Doué struck in the 61st minute. His goal was initially ruled out for offside but was subsequently confirmed following a VAR review, giving Luis Enrique’s side a 2–1 victory.

The triumph means PSG have successfully retained the UEFA Super Cup and continue their remarkable dominance in European football. The French giants have now won the Champions League in consecutive seasons and added another international trophy to their growing collection.
